Flash leaves ghost image in browsers, evince, possibly others

Okay, I had to have photos of the screen effects and I put them up at
http://zentektales.com/Artifacts.html along with some "narration."
Screen shots don't show the artifacts, probably because they're not in
the foreground video buffer (?).

Sorry about the focus - it's a little tricky in the darkness to show
the monitors.

These artifacts are from an NVidia controller (I forget which one)
with the latest driver (260.x.x I think) from NVidia, not the Ubuntu
version (which doesn't work for my machine - weird).

So far, the only way I've found to clear the artifact is to reboot,
which is not acceptable.  It has to be something about the video
buffers in the controller.

Let me know if you have a clue.
