touchpad not working

It worked off the live cd and worked a while afterwards via the install. I got 
myself a wireless mouse a lil later and started using that at home as it is 
more convenient to me. So don't know when it stopped worked. It may have been 
a number of updates back for all I know. I was at work last night and luckily 
had a usb kit with mouse. Started a lil googling as well. Also had a look at 
the settings for the touchpad/mouse in case I could see something there. 
Nothing out of the ordinary there either. I came across one site that 'll try 
on the weekend as I get more time. Maybe the solution is in there.
