Thank for the clarification (btw: this is another new thread from
"booting problem" - it helps to keep them together :-)
Unless I've missed it, nowhere in this thread (or the original) do I see
information on: 1) your system (type, model, etc), and 2) your graphic
card. If you can provide those, then it might be easier to assist.
Easiest way to do this is to (from a liveCD):
$ sudo lshw > mysystem.txt
$ gedit mysystem.txt
and then past the results in:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/
and then provide the resulting URL here (please do not paste the output
of the file here). You can do the same for your log files if you think
there is something there worth noting.
