Back around 8.10 lots of folks had pulse problems! :) Seems to work just
fine now. But, for some reason, in the last week kino, in edit mode,
plays back at double speed. I had this happen once before and clicked
something to make it stop. I fergit, so I have to dig on this problem,
but I could copy out the sound track to a wav, or even an ogg or mp3,
once you hit on the correct codec to install, which is another story. To
have kino really working well, it's all about the codec's you have
installed. It is obscure about which. Last time I just installed
everything, and the kitchen sink, then it worked perfectly.
But, it is very simple to use. You can delete or copy/paste portions
within the video, then you click on the FX tab and render. Be SURE to
check the FROM: and TO: as that sets what is rendered. Of course, you
want all of the timeline set from 00:00 to the end. Click render and
wait until it's done. You can go back to "EDIT" and review the finished
file, then click on "EXPORT" and save it. But, if you change anything,
re-render again. If you're missing codecs, then just save it as a DV
file, which it will always do. At least your work is saved. Good luck!
Hopefully some one more knowledgeable will offer up the correct codecs
to install. Ric
