To also add, we recommend using synaptic GUI because it gives you the
same information and options that aptitude and apt from command would
give like "Completely Remove" which will remove the annoying left overs
like configuration files.  It will also tell you what is a meta package,
what isn't, Ubuntu software centre does none of this.  Not that I've
seen any ways.
