Most Ubuntu users know there is a new release every April (xx.04) and every 
October (xx.10).  Update manager DOES tell you unless of course you are using 
a LTS version such as 10.04 was.  10.04 will receive much longer support than 
10.10 or even 11.04 will.  If you want the "upgrade" to show in your update 
manager, you have to set it to "normal releases" rather than "Long term 
support releases only" in your repository settings.
