Removing ndiswrapper

Hi all
While trying to help someone to get a USB wireless adapter working, I
gave ndiswrapper as try as in
https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/internet/C/troubleshooting-wireless.html
It didn't do any good so I wanted to revert to the pre-ndiswrapper
state.
I removed ndisgtk and the packages that installed with it but noticed
that the ndiswrapper module was still listed by lsmod and none of the
original modules loaded with the USB wireless adapter.
I got rid of the ndiswrapper module by blacklisting it but the original
modules loaded with the USB wireless adapter are still not being
loaded.
Did ndiswrapper set something to stop those original modules being
loaded that I need to unset?
Tony
