Monitor resolution on 10.10

I just upgraded to 10.10, but in the process, the resolution jumped to
1440x900. When I go to system to get it back to 1152x864, where I can read
it, the whole thing locks up. Eventually, it just resets back to 1440x900.
Strangely, I put another 10.10 on another HD a few weeks ago, and it didn't
have this problem, but I don't wan't to erase this HD. Thanx to anyone with
any ideas.      Bob H.
