OK, don't panic :-) .
This is where this all singing, all dancing, piece of crap called
pulseaudio comes in....
Go to the Synaptic Package Manager and 'Mark for Removal' pulseaudio -
and apply this removal.
pulseaudio will not allow alsamixergui to display more than what you
have just mentioned. Once you remove pulseaudio, alsamixergui will
display ALL the settings.
Now run alsamixergui.....
(Tell me what happens - and then we go on with the baby-steps to the
conclusion, OK :-) .)
