So post the stuff I asked for already?

You might have an auto negotiation issue on Linux side or other stuff.

mii-tool or ethtool will report what the driver is doing.

dmesg will report errors encountered by the e100 driver.

modprobe.conf will contain parameters, if any, to the e100 driver.
