That was a more or less standard humorous remark (I don't always
remember the smilies when I believe the humor should be obvious, but I
guess I should anyway). No need to be offended, and please remember
to bottom-post.

Well, for starters:
(From Thierry's post before mine:

I am not familiar with the Sony Vgcra8820G and I'm not terribly
inclined to look it up for this purpose - what CPU & speed, what speed
memory, what kind of disk, etc.? This is what I meant by "Hardware?"
and "more specific/detailed."
What OS are you running? Which desktop manager? This is "Software?"
and "more specific/detailed."
More direct response:
I'm not sure what you mean by the document coming up immediately in
the repair stage. When that sort of thing happens for me, it's any
(all) OOo documents and they all get restored at once, and there are
steps it goes through. From your description I'm guessing that you're
not seeing the normal recovery windows I just described, so . . .
Have you tried copying the document to another file and opening that
one? (This can cause different results that might be useful.)
Are you sure your OOo installation isn't corrupt? Have you tried
removing and reinstalling it?
That's it from the top of my head - send more if you can.
