I'm running an older card, but one thing I learned... after running
Fedora for eons, and having to rely on nVidia's .run version to get the
card to do anything, with Ubuntu they seem to be at odds. Libs are in
different places than where the .run file would put them. Ergo, use the
Ubuntu version using "hardware drivers" to install it otherwise you can
wind up with a mess of libs all over the place, and be different
versions of the same, clamoring for the attentions of the kernel. You
may have to dig around and remove them all to start over. I think
the .run file has a means to remove itself. Yeah, I wish it were more
simple. Ric
