If 10.04 isn't working and 9.10 worked, you could return to 9.10. 
Granted, that isn't easy because it is more or less a fresh install. Or 
you could first try one of the other bittorrent clients available for 
Ubuntu. After all you are not forced to use one particular application 
because there are many bittorrent clients available. Search for 
"torrent" with your favourite package manager and try each of the 
programs you find. Personally, I can recommend ktorrent because I know 
it works - I used it to download Ubuntu isos when 10.04 was just 
released.

I can understand your frustration if things don't work as expected. But 
whining on a list where volunteers try to help others to make things 
work, certainly doesn't help anybody. If you want to leave Linux and 
return to Windows, so be it. There's nothing wrong with that, IMHO. Use 
the tools that work best for you.
