the deprecation of usbfs in ubuntu, and should i care?

  having grown up with the USB fs, i note that it's officially
deprecated in ubuntu but, after a quick check, it seems like that's
not a big deal.  AFAICT, i can still get what i want via either
/dev/bus/usb or /sys, is that about right?
