2.6.34 kernel, and why trying to shut down reboots?

No, but 9.10 did the same on my laptop with every kernel update that came 
along. The 'funny' thing is that sometimes it _did_ shut down, but most 
times it just rebooted. I haven't tried 10.04 on it yet.
