2.6.34 kernel, and why trying to shut down reboots?

  anyone build a new 2.6.34 kernel based on the existing config file
yet and see how well it boots and runs?  i suspect that will be
tomorrow's project.

  and not sure if i posted about it here but my 2.6.34-rc7 kernel
works fine on 10.04, *except* that trying to shut down my laptop
actually causes it to shutdown, then immediately reboot.  is that
known behaviour?  anyone else seen that with a custom-built kernel?
