can not add data to partion

List _exactly_ all of the items/choices that you see when you click on
'Places'.

Post the output from:

$ fdisk -l
$ mount
$ cat /etc/fstab

and be sure to point out the partion that you created for data & the
output of:

$ ls /dev/<datapartion> -al
