New dual-boot install: Cannot boot Ubuntu

I rearranged the hard drives so that the drive I want to boot from is
sda. This is actually the second time in recent memory that I have had
trouble booting from sdb in a dual-boot scenario.

Yes, I have the CD that you sent once! But it is at home, I did not
know that I would be performing a Kubuntu install when I left. But
they were ready and waiting for me! (neighbours of my mother in law,
who drool over her Kubuntu installation)
