You're kidding yourself if you think Mint is less vulnerable than 
Ubuntu, which is close to bulletproof itself.

Why do you think Ubuntu wasn't? All releases of all distributions have 
teething problems, although If you installed a recent Ubunyu iso most 
of the glitches would have been fixed.
