Problem after ubuntu upgrade

I recently used the wubi installer to dual boot windows and ubuntu 9.10. I upgraded today, and after the install I rebooted, but forgot to pay attention, and the autoselect loaded windows.
After rebooting again, when I select ubuntu to boot, the grub menu comes up, where as before it was the linux kernel list.
I'm pretty sure the not selecting ubuntu on the initial reboot is the problem.
My question is, am I supposed to load one of the linux kernels then ubuntu? Or is there a way to exclude the last upgrade, and return to the linux kernel list?
Thanks,
David
