How to check which wireless protocol is in use? Wicd?

802.11i could be WPA2 as well. My AP is set up as WPA2 only and I see 
the 802.11i as well. But WPA / WPA2 is the encryption and has nothing to 
do with -b / -g / -n. On my two machines I have different outputs from 
the iwlist scan command. On the machine with ipw2200 driver I can see a 
line "Protocol:IEEE 802.11bg" or "Protocol:IEEE 802.11g" for the two 
available networks at my location. On the machine with ath5k driver I 
can't see that information. Maybe that info is hidden in one of the many 
lines like "IE: Unknown: 2A0100".
