Yup - however the easiest thing the OP can check is that his ram is
good. Without ascertaining that, you can read logs for hours and still
not be able to determine the cause of the issue.

Linux since 1996, roughly. Experienced hundreds of kernel panics, core
dumps, oops'es and just plain weirdness.

Not sure what the 5 letter word beginning with T is though.
