I had a problem on Sunday evening where trying to view flash videos (on
lucid mind you) would result in the first 5 seconds being played and
then Firefox would spew out several thousand mmap messages about not
being able to allocate memory (plenty of ram free, and barely any swap
used).

Linux virus 2.6.32-14-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Sat Feb 20 05:38:50 UTC
2010 i686 GNU/Linux

I fired up Synaptic, removed the adobe flash plugin and reinstalled the
"flash-plugin installer". This re-downloaded the flash software from
adobe and all appears to be working fine now. Just tried iplayer and
both radio and TV work perfectly OK.

Worked here. Worth a shot?
