64-bit - Not recommended for daily desktop usage

I am using 32bit now, but I'd like to use 64bit in the future. Just to 
know:
- Is there a *standard* procedure to install 32 bit apps in a 64 bit system?
- Does Wine works for 32bit .exe in a 64 bit environment?
