Exactly what are you looking for? If you just need an email client,  
Thunderbird is probably the best available. Evolution is more of a  
jack-knife app, which can be good or bad. I like having mail,  
appointments, tasks, organized in one domain.

Did you check the receiving options in the account settings? There's  
an item for scanning folders there.
