Problem with ifupdown script

Yeah, that was the problem. There was an entry in /e/n/i to remove a
non-existing route when the eth0 was going down. This, in turn, caused
ifupdown to fail and not to run my /etc/network/ifup.d/wlan-up script
as a consequence. Therefore my wlan did not come up.
Now that I fixed this, it works exactly as I want it: if I plug the cable,
eth0 goes up, if I remove the cable, eth0 goes down and wlan0 goes up.
No networkmanager and no wicd needed here ;-)
The only remaining task is to bring up wlan again when the wlan-button is
pressed. Any hints how to run a script when this button is pressed?
