Problem with Media Font

I am not sure this is covered already in the list. My cursor look did
not seem to find this problem. I have a MSI 123 with Ubuntu 10.04
netbook edition. It has the following problem with its builtin card
reader SDHC card:
1.   stick media in. Appears on the disk.
2.   umount the stick
3.   Remove and replace with a new stick
4.   Disk does not appear
5.   Reboot system
6.   Stick now show up when inserted in card reader.
