To begin with: how about giving us examples of from what you are trying 
to copy something and to what are you trying to past whatever?

What you stated above is just too broad for an intelligent answer. For 
example, you are using yahoo mail; in responding to this post of yours I 
just tried to edit what you wrote - and I got the normal goobly-dook I 
get when something was posted using HTML in Microsoft Outlook.

Without knowing what you are using and what you are trying to copy from 
where to where with what isn't going to get you sorted out :-) .

Provide a solid example and you will get an answer to cover it - and 
then we all progress to other examples...

PS If you get funny characters in this message then blame your yahoo 
host for the crap :-( - I cannot get rid of the rubbish at the end of
