copy and paste into terminal

     And to explain why terminals are a special case (or rather, why they 
aren't as they came first...):  CNTL-C and CNTL-V already have meaning inside 
a terminal.  CNTL-C is break or cancel action.  CNTL-V is "treat the next 
character literally".
