On the other hand, it's having a proper command line interface and a
rich toolset therein which first attracted me to Unix in 1989 and I've
never wanted to leave it.

You're right though - when you're using the CLI you have to be utterly
precise and ensure you know what each command does, what the side
effects might be and so forth. Makes you think a bit, which is a good
thing.
