One of the following is probably what you're looking for. Scrollwheel
steps through desktops. Pressing scrollwheel & moving mouse
rotates cube.
Desktop scrolling with mousewheel
Enable Rotate Cube
Bindings tab:
Rotate Left - <Control>Button 4
Rotate Right - <Control>Button 5
Enable Viewport Switcher
Desktop-based Viewport Switching tab:
Move Next - Button4
Move Prev - Button5
