When minimizing, screen gets lost.

You say the browser 'for example', does that mean it is happening with all apps?

While it is running visible on screen do you see it in the bar at the
bottom?  (Assuming you have a bar at the bottom)?  If yes, does it
disappear from there when you minimise?

After minimising what happens if you hold down the Alt key and press tab?
