if you remember what computing was like years ago, my high school days, 
everything was done from a command line.  thats what you get by default 
in server edition.  after boot, you are presented with a black screen 
and a logon prompt.

but.  as mentioned above, their are web gui administration tools you can 
access to configure/admin your server through a web browser located 
"anywhere".  ebox, webmin are a couple examples.
