Evolution mail unstable, please switch to Thunderbird for the next release...

Oh, I see.
You are using (or have used) Thunderbird and Evolution just for their
Email features. You were wrong.
Just for Emailiing, you should use lighter ones.

For heavy use (The whole PIM features) Thunderbird (+plugins) and
Evolution are OK here.
