I agree, and as I suggested a moment ago "higher in the thread", I think 
the best antidote is a very quick one liner:

"No, this is incorrect - following this advice will not work (damage 
your system) ( whatever comment)"
"See the post by <whoever.got.it.right> for a better answer"

Ok, that was two lines, but you get the idea.  This would stop the 
interminable kindergarten threads of "Did so"  -- "Did not" -- "DID 
SO!"  -- "DID *NOT!!!*"
