NTFS drive wont mount - "unknown filesystem"?

David, do you know if the ntfs partition or drive has is valid?
Do you need some hand holding? I'll go look things up to try to help.

Sorry about being a dick earlier.
I press reply on gmail and then navigate to right before the last
user's signature, or the ubuntu-users one. Then I either quote parts
using snips, or the whole thing if it is short. I replace erased parts
of an email with <snip> Like you see above.
Props to you for plaintext though.
