Switching a friend to Ubuntu

Much as I'd _really_ rather not spawn yet another rant-fest on here,
this seems rather provocative and lacking in either detail or
substance. 

If it's only one Mint contributor, I'd suggest The Right Thing To Do is
let whoever's responsible for Mint's proselytism know and leave it at
that - I'd be surprised if it was Mint's own stance on it, and I'd also
be surprised if there's no-one who contributes to Ubuntu that holds
similar views.
