Tomcat6 stops logs.

Hi, This might not be the best list for this, but I have tried the
tomcat-apache mailing list and am getting nowhere.
Does anybody know what could have happened to my tomcat6 log files?
It seems that logging has just totally stopped.
I am using Ubuntu LTS 8.04 amd64, and everything was fine in:
/var/log/tomcat6/catalina.2010-01-15.log
/var/log/tomcat6/tomcat.2010-01-15.log
Logs were going fine until I started to install cyclos (cyclos.org)
I followed all the instructions for the "standard install" (not
stand-alone) then when I re-start tomcat, I can see cyclos in the
manager area, but it does not deploy. When I try to "start" it, I get
the following error (on a web page manager no log files):
FAIL - Application at context path /cyclos could not be started
The database I created for the app remains empty. And now for some
reason there are no log files anywhere!
logs have just stopped some time after noon on the 15th.
Why did tomcat6 stop making logs?
