it sounds to me like you downloaded these manually from their respective
websites, etc?  you needn't do that.

i think most of that software can be installed directly with synaptic.
just search for the name, find the package, right-click on it and mark
it for installation.  all dependencies will be resolved.  finally just
click apply.  if the software isn't available in synaptic, look for a
DEB package to download, and that is what can be installed through the
package manager...
