Did that & modified appropriately.

$ echo $ORACLE_HOME
/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server
$ echo $ORACLE_SID
XE$ echo $NLS_LANG
AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8

$ ls -l
/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/network/log/listener.log
-rw-rw-r-- 1 oracle dba 50718 2010-01-05 10:21
/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/network/log/listener.log

And /etc/group
dba:x:1013:<username>,oracle

Thanks for having a look. I'll keep playing with it until I get it

browser & I can also get it to run via the command line. So I'm missing
