But that hasn't worked out well at all.  Opening anything from the,
"Places," menu requires me to enter my password and opens it as root.
Opening any of the same places with pcmanfm (or nautilus opened any
other way than by invoking the, "Places," menu) opens them correctly
with no need to enter a password.
I still fail to find where to configure this.
