"dpkg was interrupted" - how to fix it

Here is a idea. Press Alt+F2 and then type gnome-terminal
Then when that opens up, type sudo dpkg --configure -a
Then type your password, there will be no visual feedback.
it will look as if you didn't type anything, that is normal.
