Getting Power Button to hibernate/shutdown computer

Wow,

That was fast -- thanks.  However, the first problem I seem to have to 
solve is verifying the powerbtn is actually being seen by acpi (it 
is active in the bios).  So far I don't see anything that assures
me that the OS is seeing the button press.  So how do I check for
that?
