Nautilus totally unresponsive

The OP already stated that Nautilus works just fine as a new user, so we 
know the problem has to be somewhere within the home directory.  I would 
think before going that far, I would just create an entirely new home 
directory and just copy over stuff I want from the old one, as a last 
resort.
