I have to agree. It seemed to me that kubuntu and xubuntu were rather
left behind. I tried xubuntu 10.10 and found it didn't shutdown.

I regret to say that i've been disappointed in *buntu this last 18
months. I've always felt that an annual release would serve the
community much better - it just seems that a release date is decided
on and out it goes (not leave for a few days and sort out the last few
niggles). What intrigues me is that Pclos, Mepis and Mint - as
one-man-bands are producing a very polished release. I have much to
thank *buntu for as my first distro but at present they seem to be
considering too much change for their own good.
