I know: I maintain a CentOS server and I just love it. Yum and
chkconfig and service and one hundred other niceties just make it a
real treat. But I do prefer Kubuntu for the desktop, for a number of
reasons. Some CentOS treats such as Yum are in fact available for
Ubuntu.
