It's not all about whether X or Wayland is better or worse.
It IS all about change.
When the change over comes there will be a great wailing, tearing of
clothing and gnashing of teeth. Things will be DIFFERENT. Not what
everyone is used to.
How many messages a month do we see on the lists complaining that
something is now in a different place. Or, how it's done has changed.
The "I can't find *************. It used to be at *******" sort of message.
