Also for Playing DVD's Ubuntu must have prompted you to install media
codecs wen you tried to play any .MP3 files, and if you did that then
you should be well off playing DVD's too without much tinkering.
And yes VLC is an excellent Audio / Video player.
And yes, ignore the sometimes irrelevant discussions on this thread ...
