Showing hostname and IP on desktop

Hi all,

Is there an app that will show the systems hostname and/or IP address on the desktop?  On the windows machines here we use a great app that adds various items of info to the users desktop wallpaper so it's easy for them to see the hostname, IP, serial etc.

Any suggestions?
