It will work.. I was just giving a heads up of the potential of getting 
dumped in a busy box shell where you have to use mdadm to assemble the 
array and update homehost.

TomH also suggested updating initramfs.  I'm not entirely sure if that 
works to correct the issue.  I believe the default initramfs scripts in 
Ubuntu do not incorporate hostname into the new initramfs, though it's 
been a while since I researched this problem.
